Disinfection of the instrument and other auxiliary material

Purpose of the measure:

Stopping future infections.

Time of implementation:

Before starting to prepare the cover and/or in the following period, before any contact of the instrument with the cover or before placing the thermometer in the compost.

Method of implementation:

The instrument and tools should be previously cleaned of earth residues, then scrubbed with soda (50 - 100 grams of Na2CO3 per 10 liters of water) or placed in a formalin solution (commercial formalin diluted with water in a ratio of 1:20).

Note: Work clothing (aprons, etc.) should be washed more often, especially before contact with new compost and tablecloth.
